A free performance at Cactus Records in Houston, TX on 11/17/2010; very small PA setup with only the vocals being mic'd to the PA. All other intstruments were un mic'd with guitarists playing through amps alone and the drummer standing in front of a simple floor tom and snare setup. Rec Via: Zoom H4N (internal mics) approx. 10 feet from stage. Audience rec.

A simple comparison of two microphones being plugged directly into an HV30 camera's mic input. I used a very simple XLR-to-1/8 inch adapter to interface the mics with the camera. The mics are a Shure SM58 (dynamic) and an Audio Technica ATM10a "Low-z" Condenser mic (uses a battery).

Yet another of my wondrously uplifting bits of four track harmony ... again, set to some haunting and beautiful moving images that came from the archive.org website.
Topic: The Gods of Victory Even True Friends Worrybead Joel Harris Indie music torturecore
Not sure if this content came from the Prelinger archives or not ... I think it did ... but anyway, this is another original song set to some more disturbing content I found here at the archive.org site. Most of the stuff I write is disturbing in origin if not delivery (which tends to be a bit more harmonic) ... so the more bothersome video content around here just works wonders for my music. Color me wrist slashingly adored by the No Depression crowd!
Topic: gods of victory worrybead joel harris indie music
Little ditty I wrote a while back. ABout some personal trials and tribulations. I used some of the Chevrolet Leader content (namely, some rather disturbing content of two cats forced to box in a little makeshift ring). It's not too fun to watch ... but neither were the circumstances that inspired the song. :-)

This is a fairly decent quality recording of a great presentation by Amelia Boynton Robinson; I shot this using no special mics and so you'll have to deal with the understandable room reverb. Otherwise, the opening vocal performance is outstanding and Amelia is as inspiring as ever. If your unclear on who Amelia Boynton Robinson is and how important she was and still is to Martin Luther King's civil rights efforts, then consider this a fun and inspiring introduction. Thanks Amelia ...

The website, www.jbhfile.com exists to make public my personal knowledge of an ongoing investigation of myself by both local and federal authorities. The presence of www.jbhfile.com in the public domain is absolutely essential as a supplemental effort to my regular legal processes (Freedom of Information Act requests to federal agencies, etc.) The above mentioned investigation has, as a predominant foundation, the supposed investigation of myself for crimes related to computer usage, from...

recorded in a big warehouse space in downtown houston; 1999-2000 timeframe. some tracks, like 'stop here and pray' have the bloody train horn that was always coming by. had to play everything in key of G to go with the tri-tone from the train horn.

live rec of a few tracks from the worrybead show at the urban art bar; 1996 roughly but not sure on exact date.

Tracks from the original worrybead demo tape; recorded at sugar hill studios in houston, tx; engineer/co-production: dan workman. Songs were released on cassette tape only. Worth noting is that John Hill (aka "dogbrains") played guitar, bass *and* drums on the song "my way." No small feat ...

Acoustic room recs from Club Some. Houston, TX. 1995 or so. Before the club opened. Erik and I were using the back room for practice. Mr. Heller, my boss at the time, and roommate, was kind enough to allow us this luxury. Something worth noting, ... Emos, the bar next door, was quite a bustle with the regular friday night crowd, filing in around 10pm or so, and I distinctly remember the fine fine sounds of some truly nasty and bent, very electric and most probably marshall infested slump of a...

Tracks from the New Homestead Days release from one of the greatest bands to never exist, The Gods of Victory. All songs recorded roughly between the years of 2003 and 2005. In Texas. Of Course. And while I'm at it, ... Everyone please stop emailing me to join your band; quit with all the suggestions of record companies you want me to call. Just stop. This is all a joke, man. I DO NOT want to play IN YOUR BAND!!!

A live recording of the long disbanded band, worrybead; this is from a houston hole in the wall once known as the edge bar. the show was sometime in 1996; the recording is crappy but true. audio is ripped from a vhs video rec made the evening of the show. did not want to add to the actual live music archive as the quality is rather bad and i have no real specifics on time, etc.
